Chris Clark
Chris Clark has nearly ten years of experience in public affairs and nonprofit management in the San Diego region. He has served on the Board of the NPCA since 2014 and was elected as President in 2016. Chris is the Director of the San Diego / Tijuana chapter of the Urban Land Institute, a real estate nonprofit focused on building vibrant and healthy communities. In his spare time, Chris makes the most of North Park's walkable streets by visiting the neighborhood's many fantastic bars and restaurants.
Joseph Balestrieri
Joe Balestrieri is the owner of The Office Bar in North Park and has been an active community member in the neighborhood for over nine years.
Since joining the Board of the North Park Community Association, Joe has guided efforts to host meaningful community forums and engage new membership through the organization’s events.
Joe is also a member of the North Park Main Street Board of Directors where he works to support the thriving local business community in North Park.
Kali Knaack
Kali Knaack was born and raised in Glendale, Arizona but more recently has lived in North Park for 2 years and absolutely loves the community! Kali enjoys exerting her professional knowledge of marketing and event planning to the non-profit organizations she has volunteered for over the years including Kiwanis Club, Special Olympics and The American Cancer Society. Volunteering has gained her a wealth of experience including event communications, logistics, and participant/donor procurement. Kali is excited to be a part of a community focused group and looks forward to utilizing her skills to help plan fun events for North Park residents!
Barry Mendez
Barry Mendez, although born and raised in Seattle, has settled into San Diego and has called it home for the past 7 years. He is passionate about giving back to the community and has enjoyed volunteering at various organizations including the Ronald McDonald House, Humane Society, Habitat for Humanity, and neighborhood clean-ups.
As a professional, he has spent 15 years building a career within the consulting and professional services industry. His core areas of expertise include strategy, account planning, establishing excellent partnerships, and understanding his customers across the enterprise. He hopes to combine his professional aptitude with his passion for community as the Treasurer of the North Park Community Association.
Barry, his wife Katelyn, and their dog Hogan enjoy living in North Park and all that it has to offer. You can find them wondering through the Farmer's Market, eating dinner one of the many delicious restaurants, or enjoying dessert at one of the unique cafes.
Ryan Main
Ryan Main, ironically born and raised in Maine, has spent the majority of his adult life here in San Diego (since 2005). He has been a North Park resident the past 3 years, and loves it!
Ryan is recently engaged to his lovely fiancé, Dana. He has a handsome 3-year-old son named Phoenix, and two rescue dogs, Floyd and Kiya.
Ryan and his family have been enjoying the Bird Park Concerts for the past few summers, which ultimately encouraged him to join the NPCA in January 2017. He immediately jumped on board the Bird Park Concerts Committee to help keep the neighborhood tradition alive. In addition, Ryan has recently been elected as the NPCA Secretary.
Professionally, Ryan is a local Realtor and spends his days (and often nights and weekends too!) helping people buy, sell, and invest in real estate. Other hobbies include days at the park with family, running, hiking, cooking, travel, and country music concerts. If you see him around town, feel free to stop him for a quick chat. He loves meeting new neighbors!
Gary Jackson
Gary Jackson, is a lifelong resident of San Diego and with the exception of 7 years in La Mesa has lived in University Heights, South Park, and North Park for almost 30 years. Currently residing in North Park with his wife Sarah and their dachshund Hazel. With 2 kids grown up and out of the house, Gary has found time to devote to one of his favorite hobbies, Community Service. Gary is currently in the 3rd year of working on the Bird Park Concert committee and looks forward to finding other causes and service projects that are a good fit with the NPCA.
Professionally, Gary has been a Mortgage Loan Officer for 21 years. Other hobbies include vintage & classic motorcycles, bicycle touring, camping, travel, home improvement projects, and patronizing the diverse variety of the North Park food & beverage scene.
Natalia Mendez
Natalia joined the Board of the North Park Community Association in 2017 with a keen interest in giving back to the community she calls home. Natalia works to direct community outreach for high profile athletic events nationwide and uses her skills to bolster the NPCA’s charitable volunteer activities.
Justin Lipford
Justin Lipford is the Director of Community Engagement at the Youth & Family Services (YFS) branch of the YMCA in North Park, an organization that works with marginalized communities and addresses San Diego’s pressing social issues. In addition to community engagement for YFS, Justin utilizes his shared life experiences to mentor runaway, homeless and foster youth at the Y. Justin has over 20 years of experience serving families, young adults and children. Justin is passionate about connecting disconnected and vulnerable young adults to the resources necessary to flourish. He is a champion of diversity and inclusion and truly understands the hardships and barriers ostracized communities and people of color face on a daily basis. In addition to his community engagement and mentoring work, Justin conducts leadership development workshops to provide guidance for the next generation of difference makers. Justin believes in the power of human connection and relational development as ways to enhance one’s personal and professional development and serve the community.
Jennifer Newell Davies
Jennifer Newell Davies is a marketing and communications professional with a focus on content strategy. A Filipino-American born in Colorado, she spent significant time in Chicago and Sweden before settling in San Diego for the last decade. Jen earned a BS in Journalism and Media Studies from the University of Colorado at Boulder and she is fluent in Swedish. When she isn’t using her free time for the NPCA website or one of our many events, Jen is probably organizing a startup community event, brewing cider, watching the Cubs play, sharpening her photography skills, playing with her dog Newkie, or torturing her family at IKEA, including husband Ken and bonus kids Aidan and Emmett.
